Her time is fleeting but the beauty she bring is absolutely worth it!\n\nLet’s grow some ranunculus together 🌸\n\n❶ We start by pre-spouting our corms by soaking them in water for 4-5 hours. This seems to be the sweet spot for us. They’ll get nice and plump and double in size.\n\n❷ Once corms have plumped up nicely, we place them legs facing down in damp potting mix. The key here is to make sure the soil is moist and not soaking wet (or dry). If the soil is too wet the corms will be susceptible to rot.\n\n❸ I’ve used a cool dark space and also a warm low light space to pre-sprout corms and have found that warmer spaces grow the ranunculus corms more quickly. I prefer sprouting them this way.\n\n❹ Once corms have pre-sprouted, I set them under lights to grow. After a week or two they’ll have nice lush leafy growth. At this point they’re ready to be planted out in the field. This step is totally optional as you can plant them once they have just roots growing. I prefer to give them more of a head start.\n\n❺ Ranunculus don’t love heat so timing them is important. I plant them out when temps are still cool.
